I received the email notification of the case transfer thru the USCIS email updates for the case. My lawyer also leter confirmed that they have received a communication from USCIS on this.

ICE officials provided a copy of a new policy memo (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/7169978.html)dated Aug. 20 that instructs government attorneys to review the court cases of people with pending applications to adjust status based on their relation to a U.S. citizen. ICE estimates in the memo that the effort could affect up to 17,000 cases.
The Department of Homeland Security is systematically reviewing thousands of pending immigration cases and moving to dismiss those filed against suspected illegal immigrants who have no serious criminal records, according to several sources familiar with the efforts.
Opponents of illegal immigration were critical of the dismissals.
"They've made clear that they have no interest in enforcing immigration laws against people who are not convicted criminals," said Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, which advocates for strict controls.
In a June 30 memo, ICE Assistant Secretary John Morton outlined the agency's priorities, saying it had the capacity to remove about 400,000 illegal immigrants annually � about 4 percent of the estimated illegal immigrant population in the country. The memo outlines priorities for the detention and removal system, putting criminals and threats to national security at the top of the list.

It should be applied at the service center where your 485 is pending currently. Attach copy of 485 transfer notice with other required documents.

Where do I mail out the packets for EAD and AP renewal (paper extensions)? Can you please tell me whether the packet should be mailed to a service center where previous EAD and AP were approved or whether it depends on the state I live in?
Please note, my original EAD, AP and I-485 were sent to NSC which were transferred to TSC internally (by USCIS) and now my I-485 is pending in TSC.
Any help is appreciated.

This is indeed good news, how long can we stay in dark, we should all know at what stage we are at, as of now I do not know if my case has been pre-adjudicated or not, have background check done or not ??.

How do i find out if a RFE has been issued on a case?
Does USCIS "check case status" mentions it? My lawyer is one heck of a person and i have to keep track of my case.
I saw the case status online and it says "Request for Additional Evidence Sent".

Mail it in, if it's rejected you do not lose anything. According to the law (8 USC 1255) the USCIS should accept it.
Not according to this:
8 1255. Adjustment of status of nonimmigrant to that of person admitted for permanent residence.
(a) Status as person admitted for permanent residence on application and eligibility for immigrant visa
The status of an alien who was inspected and admitted or paroled into the United States may be adjusted by the Attorney General, in his discretion and under such regulations as he may prescribe, to that of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence if
(1) the alien makes an application for such adjustment,
(2) the alien is eligible to receive an immigrant visa and is admissible to the United States for permanent residence, and
(3) an immigrant visa is immediately available to him at the time his application is filed.
Not according to this:

I have just gone thru March recording of IV lawyer call and the below caught my attention. Ms Susan mentioned that any company name change after I140 approval has to refile I 140. I am utterly confused as that particular scenario affect me and i would like to know what best course of action i can take at this point.
I filed LC and I 140 with company A
My I 140 got approved
Before i filed my I 485 my company changed its name
I asked my attorney at that time if we need to take any special action
Attorney said they can just add an amendment while applying for I 485 about name change and apply with approved I 140, which is with old company name.
I and my wife work on EAD for past 3 years and i am still employed with same company. I wonder which one of above attorney is correct and what i should do.
Does the fact that my I485 is pending for more than 180 days after approval of my I 140 will come to rescue in case of question about company name change (AC21)

My employer will not withdraw my I-140. Should I still go ahead with AC21 or should I just do change of address with USCIS?
I will be starting my new job pretty soon. Any useful suggestions appreciated.

Its not necessary. however if you ever get a RFE, you have to be ready to respond with your AC21 docs. For the Address change, you can submit online by filling the AR-11 form.

ATA conf is a popular event among South Indian (Telugu) immigrants - this year their meeting is in NJ. During this even they seems to have an immigration forum with Attorney Murthy - details are below. If enough IV members are attending - it will be a good idea to have an informal meeting among ourselves. I am also trying to contact organizers to see if they will be OK to announce about IV and our activities - some of us can volunteer to talk to anyone interested to talk more or involve in IV's acitivities.
