....And since I'm not moving in for months, should I wait until what, a week before moving in to pay them the security and rent?

You're four months away from wanting to actually move in??? I think you're looking to early.

I can't imagine any landlord holding an apartment that long without your paying for all the time you wont be living there

I've made up my mind on the basic 13" pro. I was going to buy it on June 5th, but I don't really think I should do that now. If possible I would like to get the machine with Lion installed already. Should I wait for WWDC? Its 4 days long so I guess I could wait it out, but would they release it the day of announcement, or would it be in a couple of weeks afterwards? I know this is all speculation, but I appreciate you input

    Thanks :)

I've heard that if you buy a laptop with snow leopard now you won't ever be able to upgrade to lion.

I think you should wait for whatever comes after Lion... nobody wants to have old technology!

That's what I thought, if waiting a week or two can save me a couple of bucks, then its worth the wait.

a week or two? If lion is released in a week or two anyone who bought a computer will get a free upgrade, no sense in waiting for nothing.

On a fully updated install of 10.4.3 on my latest rev iBook, I have never seen myspace freeze. I was going to use firefox until I found out that when I visited myspace in firefox CPU usage spiked. For some reason it doesn't do that in safari, so until that changes, I'm staying with safari.

But the point of all this was, I have no problems at all on safari.

I do not have WMP installed, therefore I get that plugin not found message, I just hit cancel, never once has myspace frozen on me.

You're right in a way. You can use the Linksys and extend via ethernet to the AP express to extend it. OR... you can buy 2 APEs and have one be the WIFI.. and then the 2nd one would just extend from the 1st one. It's super easy to setup with the software on the mac!

I'm pretty good programming in PHP and Javascript, but now I need something that allows me to create simple desktop apps. Mostly it will be for automation scripts, too much for Apple Script, but not complex enough to jump into Cocoa and Objective-C. Examples: Manipulating text files (sorting, dupe line checking, adding/cutting parts, splitting/combining files etc.), uploading a file to several different FTP servers, sending POST requests to a server.

I often hear Pearl and Python mentioned and I believe they are pre-installed on the Mac, but I don't know much about them. What's the main difference? Which one (or something else?) would be best suited for these tasks? Which one is easier to learn?

Bonus: What's a good site to learn for someone who has general programming knowledge, but is a total noob with those languages?

In my view I don't see a problem with apple telling us more about this product.

Well that's all well and good, but what do you want us to do about it? Nobody who knows any further info is willing to talk.

he was recruited onto a team and they compete in international tournaments... according to him, the only proper gaming set up would use a CRT not an LCD. *shrugg* I'm quite ignorant in these matters though. :o

This is true. If you are really looking to get the best quality image in your games go with a CRT monitor. The reason gamers recommend these is for the fact they do not have a "native resolution" like LCD monitors do. On a CRT you can play at 800x600 or 1280x1024 and the game will not look blurry at either setting. If you have a LCD and its native resolution is 1280x1024 if you play a game at 800x600 then it will look blurry and not nearly as crisp as if you had a CRT. However, if your computer is fast enough to run all your games at your monitor's native resolution then this is not something to worry about. Also, most LCD monitor manufacturers have fixed the motion blur issues that used to haunt them in the past so at least that is not a worry anymore.

Well I have 5.0.3 and works with many bugs like don't let add bookmarks and doesn't reopen last closed tabs completely

That's because it wasn't designed for Lion. Mac OS X Lion runs on Safari version 5.1 (something that isn't available on Snow Leopard).

    Cool as!

Yea. I can't remember specific titles, but I remember splitscreen multiplayer games ran a little bit better with an expansion pack in.

God if only the N64 could connect to my monitor I'd be back on Mario 64, Goldeneye, OoT... :o
