Personally Id go to 7.6 as its basically Mac OS 8.0 without the stuff that made 8.0 slow - on 68K Machines either 7.6 or 7.1 are going to be the best systems (7.5.5 is actually pretty horrid, 7.6 is much better).
This is why I skipped 8 all together. It did not seem any different than 7.6.1. The only reason I bothered with 9 was that one of my upgrades for a Performa 6400 required 8 or later (I forget if it was the G3 upgrade or video card). Then my G4 shipped with 9. I was also disappointed that Mac OS 8 was not Copeland which I had been reading about in the Mac publications and anticipating for a long time.
Unless you don't want another machine cluttering things up I would do as dmr727 suggested and get a PPC to run 8 and push the 575 back to 7.1.

Well pffft to IGN. I was at the store yesterday and :eek: there was a stack of Theme Park for DS. Sweet! So I got it for $29.99 cdn. Saved me from importing it. Almost dead on to the PSX version, a little more advanced than the Genesis one, but not quite as advanced as the PC version. The stylus control isn't perfect but it works better than a pad thats for sure.

I like the wood look ones as well. If they are real wood, though, I'd imagine they aren't dishwasher safe, which effectively cancels my interest, (lazy). :)

Congrats on the purchase. I'm a PC->Mac convert/PB 17 inch owner myself. You mentioned you were looking for a carrying case for your 17"er, I highly recommend the Booq Powersleeve 17. May not be ideal for traveling long distance, but for day-to-day use it's simple, svelte, provides good protection, and has adequate space for a fair number of accessories. It even has a pouch in the back for putting papers that you may need. And it looks way cooler than a backpack...

you should check out phpmailer (http://phpmailer.worxware.com/). I use it if I need to have an email form and it works really well.

Can't you just do that in Parallels? Why do you need Boot Camp for simple streaming?

Dear All ,
I have Macbook , come Dark on backlight , i change inverter but still same problem .
and when fix inverter cable to the inverter the normal disply comes back once , like only plug and unplg , ineed to knwo the problem from logic borad , or from other think .

i am finding that Safari 5.1 is almost unusable on Lion. It drops all internet connections and i have to use network preferences to reboot if you will just to get it use my wifi everytime.
the bookmark bar doesn't work and on and on. im using chrome and its fast as heck on lion. too many bugs to use lion for everyday right now...

Absolutely. If you're on AT&T's $25.00/month plan it will cost you and extra $20 in the months when you do that. AT&T has told me that if you've got one of the old $30/month unlimited data plans you can use the iPhone as a hotspot with no additional charge.

I've not been into these conferences before now (I saw the keynote from Steve Jobs a) when the new iMacs were anounced, and b) when the new ipods/iphone were anounced) and since then, I've had a huge excitement...plus the fact, I'm in the market for a MBP and an iMac :D
So yeah, I'm more excited about MacWorld

This does look like iOS4 is turning into Apple's Vista. .
The biggest difference... Apple will fix the problems. MS just let it go.
BTW... I've noticed lots of little things too... the most annoying being the proximity sensor issues. But I have confidence they will get fixed. I'm just hoping soon. :) But heck... it's only been just over a month since it shipped. :D

I agree with the rest, it was very good.
